Following the success of Noises Off last October, the Falcon Players continue their 50th anniversary season with RolePlay by Alan Ayckbourn at The Cope Auditorium, Epinal Way, Loughborough from Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th February 2007.

Directed by Sue Vickers and Chris Marlow, RolePlay was premiered at the Stephen Joseph, Scarborough in 2001 and subsequently went on to a successful run in London’s West-End.

Set in London’s docklands, RolePlay opens as Justin and Julie, a couple in their twenties, are preparing to receive their respective parents for dinner where they intend to announce their engagement. Nerves abound as this will be the first meeting for both parties but that’s nothing compared to the crisis that develops when a gangster’s girlfriend and his minder take refuge in their flat. Chaos abounds as they insist on staying for dinner as they await the gangster’s return.

Sue and Chris are frequent visitors to the theatre in Scarborough and Alan Ayckbourn, himself, has written to the Falcon Players congratulating them on their 50th anniversary and saying “How opportune that you should be producing RolePlay which just happens to be my 60th!

Described by The Times as “Alan Ayckbourn in great form. Funny, subtle and satisfying”

Tickets are now on sale from the Town Hall Box Office, Loughborough priced at £7.00 for the Tuesday performance, £7.50 for the Wednesday and Thursday performances and £8.00 for the Friday and Saturday performances. Credit Card bookings can be made by calling 01509 231914.
