LAYING THE GHOST - SYNOPSIS
Margot Buchanan, a very witty ex-actress living in a retirement home, is trying to forget it is her seventieth birthday. But all around are intent on celebrating it, even Freda, her psychic friend who talks to ghosts and is deep in her jigsaw puzzle of the Full Monty.

Margot and her ex husband Sir Leo Buchanan, were famous in the fifties for their portrayal of Romeo and Juliet and for this reason Margo is visited by young Sadie Croft who is also to play Juliet. Sadie is currently having an affair with Leo, but they are interrupted by the arrival of Lady Judy Buchanan, Leo's current wife, and Margot is very icy towards her as Judy caused the break up of Margot's marriage!

Leo arrives, in hiding from a tabloid reporter but unfortunately suffers a fatal heart attack as the curtain falls on Act I. Thus Act II is set for scenes of chaos and hilarity as Leo's ghost appears, anxious to sort out matters between his three women, and visible only to Freda! Everything does sort itself out but not before a deeply touchig ending when Margot receives a very unexpected gift.

Laying The Ghost will feature Yvonne Marshall in the role of Margot Buchanan, Janet Holmes as Freda and Stuart Bailey as Sir Leo Buchanan. Sylvia Fall will return to the Stanford Hall stage in the role of Sadie Croft and feature alongside Patricia Quilter as Mrs Kidd, Liz Cox as Lady Judy Buchanan and Bill Pritchard.
