The Falcon Players are pleased to announce that they are ready to provide theatregoers with another high quality comedy at the magnificent Stanford Hall Theatre near Loughborough. The Falcon Players will be back on stage from 8th to 11th October 2003 with PLAY ON by Rick Abott. The play enters into the world of amateur dramatics as the Falcon Players become The Lower Strapping Community Players and we will see the hilarious antics that ensue as they attempt to stage the premiere of Murder Most Foul. It’s a play within a play that will provide you with a memorable evening of theatrical entertainment. Following a successful campaign to attract new members The Falcon Players are pleased to welcome two debutants – Cathy Rackstraw and Alison Turner. Cathy and Alison will also be appear alongside some of the more experienced Falcon Players including Janet Holmes, Steve Shipton, Liz Cox and Brian Binns on the Stanford Hall stage As the curtain rises we join Geraldine (played by Liz Cox) the director of the Lower Strapping Community players at a rehearsal for ‘Murder Most Foul’ can she get this group of amateurs remember their lines? Billy Carewe (played by Andy Holt) and Violet Imbrey (Cathy Rackstraw) think they can, but seem to struggle when curtain goes up and face the wrath of the experienced Polly Benish (played by Janet Holmes). Can they remember their entrances? The novice schoolgirl actress Marla Smith (played by Tina Addington) seems unable to remember which line to enter the stage on causing friction between her, Saul Watson (Mike Jones) and the distinguished character actor Henry Benish (Steve Shipton). As the stage manager (Alison Turner) and sound effects technician (Brian Binns) struggle in the wings to keep the show moving more chaos is brought to the group as the shows playwright Phyliss Montague (played by Melanie Carson) arrives with additional scenes for the group to learn with only three days to go, will they manage to pull it of ahead of the opening night?
